A villa in Via dei Patrioti was ransacked by thieves who stole gold jewelery and cash, causing significant damage. Investigations are underway to recover the stolen goods
SOLBIATE OLONA – In the night between last Saturday and Sunday, a small house located in Patriots Street it was the site of a daring assault by as yet unknown criminals. The owners were away while the neighbors were out for dinner, which facilitated the thieves’ operation. The event caused great concern in the local community, not only for the huge loot of gold jewelery and cash stolenbut also for significant damage caused to the apartments of the two-family house.
According to initial investigations, i thieves they appear to be professionals, probably of Roma origin, considering their ability to manage the operation despite the villa’s exposure on a high-traffic main road. The criminals have forced the entrance doors and they have raided the gold jewels, neglecting silver objects. In particular, in their search they heavily damaged the tavern in the hope of finding a safe, without success.
During the assault, it appears the thieves were suddenly interrupted, likely by something that startled them, as they fled leaving a mess of damage in their wake. The owners, promptly alerted by the neighbors, returned to the villa and immediately filed a complaint report to the police. The authorities are now working to recover the stolen goods, supported by the images of the jewels and the surveillance systems in the area, already acquired and analysed.
This is not the first incident of its kind in the region and law enforcement has previously been successful in recovering the stolen property thanks to thorough investigations and collaboration with the local community. It is hoped that this time too, thanks to the effectiveness of the ongoing investigations, safety and tranquility can be restored for the residents of Via dei Patrioti.
