The Golden Film for the Apulians: The celebration of Italian cinema – Pugliapress

Rome, Via Veneto, 16 June 2024 – The XIV edition of The Golden Filmwhich took place last night, saw Via Veneto transform into a stage of excellence for Italian cinema.

Organized by the Cultural Association “SAS Cinema” under the guidance of Enzo De Camillis, the evening rewarded numerous personalities from the big and small screen, including Apulian artists.

The event, which celebrates the trades and craftsmanship of the Italian cineaudiovisual sector, was skilfully conducted by Sabina Stilo who in the past presented the Portici d’estate event in Martina Franca organized by our director Antonio Rubino, when it took place under the porticoes of Piazza Maria Immacolata.

A jury of 260 professionals selected the winners among different generations of actors and technicians, underlining the importance of the workers who work behind the scenes.

The Apulian protagonists of the evening

Puglia shone thanks to its talents. Michele Riondino, a true Tarantino, who after the recent David di Donatello received the award for Best Fiction Actor for his performance in “The Lions of Sicily”.

His performance captured the hearts of the jury and the audience, making him one of the most loved faces of the evening.

Riondino thanked the organizers with a video message, expressing his pride for the recognition received.

Among the winners, Elena Sofia Ricci, Michele Placido (also more than once in Portici in the summer) and Sergio Martino received the Special Prize.

The evening also saw the participation of actors such as Francesco Gheghi, Mita Medici, Maria Pia Calzone, Emilio Franchini, and the director Pierfrancesco Pingitore.

The youth award for the best film “Mia” was awarded to Ivano De Matteothanks to the jury made up of students of the Rossellini Cine TV Institute in Rome.

The importance of cultural support

The event benefited from the support of several institutions, including the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy, the MiC DG Cinema and the Lazio Region, as well as various bodies in the cineaudiovisual sector such as Cinecittà and RAI Fiction.

This participation underlines the importance of enhancing and supporting the professions that constitute the backbone of Italian cinema.

The evening also celebrated technical professionals with dedicated prizes.

Future perspectives

The 14th edition of La Pellicola d’Oro reaffirmed the excellence of Italian cinema, celebrating not only the well-known faces of the big screen but also the workers who work behind the scenes.

An event that not only rewards talent, but inspires future generations of cinema professionals, with Puglia playing a leading role.
