Misano: Toprak Razgatlioglu does an encore and wins in Worldsbk. Bulega second

75,688 spectators at the feet of Toprak Razgatlioglu during the weekend of the Emilia-Romagna Round of WorldSBK. An audience up by 7% compared to last year which certifies the success of the main event in the Motor Valley and honors the value of an extraordinary champion. In detail: 14,510 on Friday, 26,066 on Saturday and 35,112 on Sunday.

The Dorna Sport event therefore confirms its sporting appeal, amplified by the possibility of experiencing the paddock in close contact with the champions protagonists on the track.

The record number of spectators also rewards the racing formula which guarantees entertainment on the track on Saturday and Sunday. Over the last ten years at MWC the number of spectators has grown by 20% thanks also to the contents that have been added to the venue in recent years, such as the MWC Square and its commercial proposals.

The weekend also saw the historic debut at the Emilia-Romagna Round of the FIM Women’s Racing Circuit World Championship, a new competition dedicated to female drivers from all over the world and which promises to carve out a primary role in the motorsport panorama.

RACES ON THE TRACK

In the morning the WorldSBK Superpole Race saw Toprak Razgatlioglu (Rokit BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) prevail in great form at Misano World Circuit with his BMW. Behind him was Nicolò Bulega (Aruba.it Racing Ducati) who tried to counter the Turkish champion until the end. Third place for Alex Lowes (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK). Other Italians in the top ten: Locatelli fourth, Iannone fifth, Bassani sixth and Petrucci ninth.

Maria Herrera doubled her success in race 2 of the WorldWCR, the FIM Women’s Racing Circuit World Championship which started at the Emilia-Romagna Round. Second position, after a duel resolved at the last corner, for Sara Sanchez. Third place for Hana Carrasco. Fifth place for the Italian Roberta Ponziani.

The Indonesian Aldi Satya Mahendra won race 2 of the Supersport 300 at the end of a spectacular race fought by an always compact group. Second place for the Dutchman Jeffrey Buis and third for the Spanish Inigo Iglesias.

In Race 2 of the WorldSBK, Toprak Razgatlioglu’s protagonism is repeated, starting a little late and then recovering to take the third victory of the Emilia-Romagna Round weekend. Second place for the excellent Niccolò Bulega, who took the podium twice over the weekend. Third place for Alvaro Bautista, protagonist of a good comeback. The Italians in the top ten: Locatelli fifth, Petrucci sixth and Bassani seventh.

Encore by the Spaniard Adrian Huertas who also wins race 2 of the WSSP, ahead of the Italian Yari Montella. Third place for the Frenchman Valentine Debise.

WORLDSBK AT MISANO WORLD CIRCUIT FOR ANOTHER 5 YEARS

In the morning, WorldSBK and MWC announced the extension of the partnership to guarantee the Emilia-Romagna Round in the iconic Motor Valley until 2029.

The Emilia-Romagna Round will therefore continue to excite fans at the Misano World Circuit for another five years, thanks to the new agreement signed with Santa Monica SpA which consolidates the prestigious role of Misano, where it has been racing since 1991, in the history of WorldSBK. The announcement was made public all over the world by an overlay on the television images at the start of race 2.

THE ITALIAN ANTHEM PLAYED BY THE RIMINI YOUTH BAND

Before the start of Race 2 of WorldSBK, the City of Rimini Youth Band, directed by maestro Andra Brugnettini, performed the Italian anthem on the starting grid. The band has been active since 2012 and has a formation ranging from 25 to 35 boys and girls aged 8 to 18 who attend or have attended the Band Music School.

DORNAWSBK’S TRIBUTE TO THE PEOPLE INVOLVED IN THE ORGANIZATION OF THE EVENT

There were the army of marshals, the employees of the Misano World Circuit offices and the press room staff yesterday afternoon, at the end of the race day, at the special moment that DornaWSBK wanted to dedicate to all those who work on the organization of the ‘event. In front of the Paddock Show audience, Gregorio Lavilla, Executive Director of WorldSBK, thanked everyone for the fundamental work done.

THE COLLECTION OF SURPLUS FOOD TO LOCAL COMMUNITIES

Also this year, as part of the Food Collection of the Misano Green Circuit project, surplus food was collected to be allocated, in the form of meals, to local communities. The initiative is carried out in agreement with DornaWSBK and Summertrade, MWC’s partner company for catering services, and in collaboration with the Papa Giovanni XXIII Association, which takes care of distribution.

ALSO MACRON’S DEBUT AT THE PADEL ARENA ON THE WORLDSBK WEEKEND

The padel challenges between the WorldSBK riders, which characterized the 2024 media event, also marked the start of the collaboration with Macron Padel. The leading Bolognese brand in sportswear is the new technical partner of the Padel Arena recently built within the Misano World Circuit. In addition to branding the court and the surrounding areas, Macron supplies rackets, clothing and provides an exclusive shop area.
