«Happy birthday dad»: with a very sweet photo shared on social media, Prince William wished his father King Charles a happy birthday on Father’s Day which is celebrated today in the United Kingdom. The sovereign also wanted to remember his father, Prince Philip, with a moving video that retraced their entire life together until his death.
The photo: when it was taken
Taken on June 12, 1984, the image shows a young and radiant William and Charles playing together. “Happy Father’s Day, Dad,” the post, personally signed by William, read. Later that same year, William gained a younger brother, with the Duke of Sussex born in September. William put on an adorable display in blue dungarees and a striped T-shirt as he played with a ball in the photo, while Charles looked dapper in a gray suit, shirt and tie.

The British royal family’s X account posted footage of Charles and his father, the late Prince Philip, from the National Archives. The video showed several touching memories between the father-son duo along with the writing: “Wishing all the dads and those who may be missing their parents today, a relaxing Father’s Day.” The footage shows Carlo and his father from when he was a child until he was a little boy. And a young Queen Elizabeth also appears as she joined Philip and Charles for a walk in the palace gardens.
