In implementation of the 2023 national Memorandum of Understanding, on the morning of 12 June, at the Monopolies Office for Abruzzo in Pescara, a coordination meeting was held between the representatives of the aforementioned Office and those of the Provincial Command of the Guard of Finance of Pescara, for a full valorisation of institutional synergies, thus achieving a consolidation of the relationships of collaboration, mutual support and complementarity between the two Administrations, in order to combat illegality in the gaming sector.
During the meeting, chaired by the Director of the Monopolies Office for Abruzzo, Dr. Stefania Provini and by the Provincial Commander of the Guardia di Finanza of Pescara, Colonel ST Antonio Caputo, a structured action plan was shared of control of the territory of the Province of Pescara for the prevention and fight against illegal gaming.
Colonel Caputo, on the occasion, underlined that “For the Guardia di Finanza, the commitment in the gaming and betting operational sector represents an important priority within the framework of actions aimed at guaranteeing ever higher levels of economic-financial security. This is in the knowledge that the pathological phenomena connected to this sector are often contiguous to the forms of infiltration of crime, including organized crime, into the fabric of the legal economy of the territory”.
In this regard, Dr. Provini reiterated that “the collaboration between ADM and Guardia di Finanza in the context of controls on gaming and betting is a common objective under consideration
of the specific skills and professionalism of the personnel involved in combating crimes”.
