In the late afternoon, witnesses reported seeing the fire spread from the front of a motorcycle. From there the flames also involved nearby vehicles which also caught fire. The firefighters who responded put out the fire. It is assumed that the causes of the fire are accidental in nature, linked to the malfunction of the electrical system of one of the three scooters involved.

The 39-year-old son-in-law of the owner of the motorbike from which the fire apparently started, after having tried in vain to put out the flames, was taken to Umberto I under yellow code due to poisoning due to smoke inhalation.

The carabinieri of the Rome Prenestina station and the Rome Piazza Dante company intervened on site and cordoned off the area and prevented the transit of vehicles.
