One year after the accident, the Eraclea tourist train is back in service

It is one of the most awaited activities by tourists, who can enjoy this service to see (and show their children) the town from another perspective. The one from a tourist train. The service, which has now become a regular attraction for Eraclea Mare and therefore highly requested by all tourists, will start again from Monday 17 June. «It is one of the attractions that are now part of the usual evening activities for tourist seaside resorts» recalled the president of Atvo, Fabio Turchetto «and it is no coincidence that we have been present for some time in practically all the places on the Venetian coast. And we couldn’t fail to still be in Eraclea Mare, a reality that is growing a lot over the years, has an encouraging and very interesting future ahead of it and deserves to be followed, also in terms of attractions, as well as services. As Atvo and the Metropolitan City, we are always attentive to the requests of the territory.”

The train will be active every evening, from 8.30 pm. Departure from via Dancalia (near the Marinara restaurant), traveling along via Marinella, via delle Rose, della Pineta, then via Livenzuola, via dei Lecci, via degli Aceri and then returning to via Dancalia. Cost 2.50 euros; children up to 4 years old are free. The train is equipped with two carriages and is driven by an Atvo driver with over 20 years of experience driving company vehicles.

The mayor Nadia Zanchin was particularly satisfied and commented: «As an administration we are happy with the return of the tourist train to Eraclea Mare as it is highly anticipated and considered a constant attraction of the seaside resort which brightens the evenings of tourists of all ages from the youngest to larger. Tourists who use the service will in fact be able to fully enjoy the beauty of our pine forest, finding this year completely renovated routes such as Via Marinella and Viale delle Rose which have undergone major interventions with the reconstruction of the underground services and the entire road surface, for which A particular biostrasse material was used with particular attention to the ecosystem. Naturally we are grateful to Atvo for making this attractive service available again and for the constant attention it pays to our territory.”

The accident of 3 July 2023, when the overturning of some carriages caused eleven people to be injured, fortunately slightly, and led to the suspension of service for the entire last season. Driving the vehicle was Bruno Possamai, a 61-year-old from Spresiano, who was investigated by the Venice Prosecutor’s Office for that episode, which was probably attributable to a reckless maneuver by the driver himself.
