Flattering presence of visitors today at the PalabancaEventi (formerly Palazzo Galli) in via Mazzini to admire the suggestion and charm of “Icônes – interactive space promoted by “Rete Cultura Piacenza” with the precious contribution of the Banca di Piacenza – in which the “three jewels ” of Piacenza art (the “Tondo” by Botticelli, the “Ecce Homo” by Antonello da Messina and the “Portrait of a Lady” by Gustav Klimt) are told in a futuristic installation mounted in the center of the Sala Corrado Sforza Fogliani.

Visitors (entrance to the exhibition is free) enter a darkened environment with large projections and have the opportunity to grasp details of the works that are difficult to grasp during a real visit, in a very particular context: an interactive floor combines the three operas and the immersive experience is accompanied by an exceptional soundtrack, taken from as many compositions by Giuseppe Verdi. The duration of this virtual journey is about ten minutes, with a fourth part dedicated to the city, told in an equally fascinating way.

Meanwhile, in the late afternoon yesterday, Friday 14 June, the inauguration of the exhibition took place, with the authorities and those who are part of the “Piacenza Culture Network” present: the Municipality, represented by the mayor Katia Tarasconi, the Piacenza and Vigevano Foundation with its president Roberto Reggi, the Emilia Chamber of Commerce (the vice president Filippo Cella was present) and the Diocese of Piacenza and Bobbio with the vicar general Don Giuseppe Basini. Also present were the councilor for culture Christian Fiazza with the director of the Civic Museums of Palazzo Farnese Antonio Iommelli, the president of the Opera Pia Alberoni Giorgio Braghieri and the president of the Galleria d’Arte Moderna Ricci Oddi, Massimo Toscani and the director Lucia Pini. The Bank of Piacenza was represented by the general director Angelo Antoniazzi and the deputy general director Pietro Boselli.

After a brief greeting from the mayor, during which he underlined the role of the Piacenza Culture Network and the magic of this immersive exhibition which coincides with the historic passage of the Tour de France to Piacenza, the ribbon was cut and from the first comments it was understood that this interactive exhibition, set up by the specialized company Neo, will arouse great interest and deep attention.

The exhibition will remain open until 7 July and will observe the following opening hours: Tuesday to Thursday from 4pm to 8pm, Friday from 4pm to 11pm, Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 12pm and from 4pm to 8pm. Extraordinary openings on 29th and on 30 June (10-12 and 16-23), on 1 and 4 July from 10am to 11pm. On weekends there are free shuttle buses that will transport visitors to the three museums (Palazzo Farnese, Ricci Oddi and Opera Pia Alberoni ) where the works are hosted.
