Record for the Spaniard Yamal: at 16 years and 11 days he is the youngest player on the pitch in a European championship match

Winning debut for Spain in group B of the European Championship in Germany. The ‘Red Furies’ beat Croatia 3-0 in Berlin, thus frightening Italy, who will be on the pitch at 9pm in Dortmund and their next opponent on Thursday evening. The match started with a record, set by Spaniard Lamine Yamal. At 16 years and 11 months, the Barcelona striker became the youngest player to play a European Championship match. The previous record belonged to Poland’s Kacper Kozlowski, who faced Spain in 2021 at the age of 17 years and 246 days.

Meanwhile, at 3pm, Switzerland beat Hungary 3-1 in Cologne, reaching the top of group A with Germany, who won 5-1 last night against Scotland in their debut match. The victory of the Swiss team was sealed by goals from Duah in the 12th minute and from Aebischer in the 45th minute of the first half and from Embolo in the final. Varga scored the Hungarian goal in the 21st minute.

Tomorrow Poland-Holland is scheduled at 3pm, Slovenia-Denmark at 6pm and Serbia-England at 9pm.
