“Oristano City of Sport”. A few days after the extraordinary feat of Lorenzo Patta, European champion in the 4×100 relay together with his teammates Melluzzo, Jacob and Tortu, the Municipality is organizing two events to celebrate the successes of Oristano athletics of yesterday and today.
It starts on Tuesday, at 6pm, with the inauguration of the exhibition “Museo Atletica Oristano”: at the San Martino theater until Saturday you can admire cups, medals, photographs and newspaper articles that tell the story of the participation of the city of Eleonora in the most prestigious international championships. From the podiums of the past, such as those of the Olympians Valentina Uccheddu, Rita Angotzi and Giorgio Marras, to the more recent ones.
And today’s protagonists Lorenzo Patta and Stefano Oppo (gold medal in the World Cup in the lightweight doubles in April) will be the guests of honor at the “Oristano at the Olympics” conference scheduled for Friday at 5.30 pm in the San Domenico auditorium of via Lamarmora. “Our city has made an extraordinary contribution to Italian sport – explains the competent councilor Antonio Franceschi – it will be an opportunity to look back on thirty years of success”.
