Optimizing transport is the new challenge of the future: BaseTrack it is in fact the startup winner of the jury prize of the 12th edition of the WMF Startup Competition – We Make Future, International Fair and Festival on AI, Tech & Digital Innovation, held at BolognaFiere until 15 June. The final, which took place on the Mainstage in front of an audience of participants from over 90 countries, was a central moment for the World Startup Fest and the Open Innovation & VC Fest, events that brought together over 3,000 startups in Bologna and open innovation stakeholders from around the world.

BaseTrack offers a 20% fuel saving system for human-driven trucks and an all-weather automated trucking service. The startup responds to the challenge of the future “Future of Cities and Communities”.

The public instead rewarded an Italian startup, Intuos, a modular software platform that optimizes and simplifies aircraft owners’ operational processes through the use of real-time IoT data and AI-based predictive algorithms. Intuos responds to the future challenge “Future of Life on Planet Earth”.

The six finalist startups from Italy, Spain, Bulgaria, Austria and Estonia, challenged each other by presenting innovative ideas capable of responding to the 12 challenges of the future identified by the WMF, in line with the objectives of the UN 2030 Agenda for sustainable development and ESG criteria.

These are the startups participating in the final:

  3. ResilientX (Bulgaria)
  4. Intuos (Italy) – winner of the audience award
  5. Barin Sports (Austria)
  6. Necture (Estonia)

A commitment to a sustainable future

Cosmano Lombardo, Founder and CEO of Search On Media Group and creator of the WMF, expressed great satisfaction with the growth and innovation demonstrated by the more than 5,000 applications received from more than 120 countries. Lombardo highlighted the importance of startups for the evolution of tomorrow and celebrated the success of the WMF in providing a place and meeting opportunities for thousands of open innovation stakeholders from around the world.

The World Startup Fest and the Open Innovation & VC Fest, which took place within the WMF, saw the participation of over 3,000 players from the global innovation ecosystem, coming from Europe, Africa, North and South America. South, Asia and the Middle East. During the three days of WMF, numerous matching, networking and business meetings took place, offering new synergies and development opportunities for startups, investors, investment funds, companies and institutions.
