The final day of the 9th Friendship Trophy – Interforce 7-a-side football was held on Friday 14 June in Borgo San Dalmazzo, on the fields of the Sporting Club Libertas Borgo asd, created in collaboration with members of the corps and armed forces in service in the Cuneo area.
In the two elimination rounds, the Carabinieri (Cuneo and Borgo SD), the Cuneo State Police and the Mondovì Traffic Police, the Penitentiary Police (Cuneo and Saluzzo), the Fire Brigade and a team from the 2nd Alpine Regiment of Cuneo – San Rocco Castagneretta faced each other. and the Financial Police.
During the tournament, which began last May 14th, the representatives of the various police and military forces, underlined the organizers, “competed sportingly with a common objective, that of promoting sport as a recreational activity and not as often happens in the world of soccer”.
The final phase saw the Cuneo State Police and the Saluzzo Penitentiary Police team face off for first place. The match ended with a 2-1 result for the Penitentiary Police at the end of a very tight and exciting match. In the “final” third and fourth place the team of the 2nd Alpine Regiment of Cuneo and the Traffic Police of Mondovì faced each other, with the former prevailing 5-3.
At the end of the matches, awards were given to the finalist and participating teams, as well as an individual prize for the top scorer of the tournament won by Marchiafava Filippo of the Saluzzo Penitentiary Police.
During the awards ceremony, the organizers thanked all those who made the event a success, in particular “the director of Spazio Conad of Cuneo, the ANFI volunteers of Cuneo ODV and the referees of the Acsi Football League of Cuneo for their precious collaboration , as well as all the participants.
