One dead and one injured in Rome following a serious road accident that occurred during the night on Via Cristoforo Colombo, towards Ostia.
Around 4.30 am the patrols of the local police of Rome Capital, XII Monteverde Group, intervened on site, at the intersection with Via di Acilia. Two motorcycles were involved in the collision – a Piaggio Beverly moped and a Kawasaki Z900 motorbike – and a Ford Fiesta car. There the victim is a 26-year-old who was aboard the Kawasakiwhile the driver of the Piaggio, a 34-year-old, was taken to the Grassi hospital for his injuries but was not reported to be in serious condition.
The dynamics of the accident
According to initial findings, the victim who was riding the motorbike collided with the scooter: falling to the ground, she was hit by the car driven by the 21-year-old, who was passing by at that moment. It is not clear whether the 26-year-old died following the fall or from the collision. The girl driving the car, however, tested negative for alcohol and was taken to hospital in shock.
