In fact, it is impossible to forget the month of February 2022, when the cost of petrol suffered its first record-breaking surge. It had all been due at the beginning of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, a dramatic event that had also had serious consequences from an economic and gas point of view. Since then, the price of fuel has never returned to what it was before and motorists are now get used to these price increases.
The situation at the moment is not the best. In fact, experts assure that a new rise is upon us. And the fact that this happens in the summer is even worse, as many of us are preparing to go on holiday in our cars.
Petrol, the bad news
A new price increase is coming. Unfortunately, these days we are witnessing a context of growth in international prices of refined products, in particular as regards diesel. According to what was declared by Ministry of Business and Made in Italytoday the average price of petrol stands at around 1,850 euros/litre, an increase compared to the previous survey.
As regards self-service diesel, the average price charged today has risen to 1,700 euros per litre, also a slight increase.
How to save on petrol
Whether these are the first signs of a rise in petrol prices or a simple market fluctuation is not known at the moment. All that remains is to wait to see how the situation on the market will evolve, even if international tensions on the markets are being felt heavily in this period.
Saving on petrol is possible. In fact, you just need to follow a few small precautions to avoid waste. In particular, by adapting your driving style you can avoid consuming too much petrol. Therefore choose a smooth and constant ride, avoiding sudden braking and acceleration.
