Attack on the Carmiano-Piacenza bus: 20-year-old punches passenger

An episode of violence shook passengers on the Carmiano-Piacenza bus line on Friday 14 June, when a young man of Moroccan origins attacked a passenger, punching him in the face.

According to testimonies, the twenty-year-old boy did not have a ticket and was yelling at the driver of the vehicle. The situation quickly escalated when one of the passengers asked the young man to stop shouting. In response, the twenty-year-old punched the passenger in the face, seriously injuring him. The victim of the attack lost a lot of blood and an ambulance was called to the scene.

The incident occurred around midday yesterday in via Manfredi, near the stop near the President theatre. “At that moment the bus was crowded with people – the driver told Libertà – at a certain point a boy started getting hot and insistently asking to get off”. Shortly before, in fact, the young man had seen two conductors from Seta (the company that manages local public transport) get on board. To avoid being caught without a travel ticket, the young man began to insistently ask to get off, until he completely lost his temper. Initially in words, then he moved on to actions. When another passenger present asked him not to shout near his ears, the boy confronted him, punched him in the face and then ran away taking advantage of the open doors.

The attack sparked fear among those present, who immediately called the police. The 20-year-old would have disappeared without a trace. An episode that once again raises the issue of safety on public transport and the need for greater vigilance.
