Lazio, fans protest against Lotito

Lazio fans take to the streets. For the umpteenth time in recent years and always with the same aim: to challenge the president Claudio Lotito, guilty – according to them – of a corporate management not up to the traditions of the Biancoceleste club. So yesterday the ultras of the Curva Nord organized a sit-in protest near the Flaminio stadium, a symbolic place for all those who have the colors of Lazio at heart (and in the hope, among other things, of becoming the new stadium owned by Lazio ). The demonstration, which took place peacefully, was also attended by many fans who have nothing to do with the ultras. According to the Police Headquarters there were around 6 thousand people. However, the number subsequently increased, reaching between 8 and 10 thousand units, when the fans moved in a procession (authorized by the Police Headquarters itself) up to Ponte Milvio, another symbolic place for Lazio fans.

nothing against barons

“We want to win again”, one of the most popular slogans of the event. And again: “The fans must count”. But, above all, many invitations to Lotito to step aside. Relations between the warmest part of the fans and the president have never been idyllic. Lotito’s fans have always criticized overly careful management and cost-saving choices when building the team. The straw that broke the camel’s back (again) was the hiring of Marco Baroni as coach, a coach considered to have a low profile and therefore a downsizing move for the future. But a banner displayed specified that the fans were only angry with Lotito and not with Baroni. The unanimous invitation addressed to Lotito was to step aside. A “suggestion” which however will fall on deaf ears given that the president, even a few days ago, reiterated that no dispute will push him to abandon Lazio.
