What will be the future of Toko Shengelia? One of the symbolic men of Segafredo Virtus Bologna still has one year contract at 2 million net with the You Black even if there is an exit option in favor of both parties (500 thousand euros in case the Georgian leaves the contract, 200 thousand in case the club interrupts the marriage). Virtus Bologna and Toko Shengeliaaccording to “Il Corriere di Bologna”, they reflect on whether to continue the marriage together: the club mainly regards an economic issue while the big man – as he is now known – still has many admirers around Europe.

THE ARRIVAL OF TOKO SHENGELIA AT VIRTUS BOLOGNA
The Tbilisi native arrived under the Two Towers on March 7, 2022 with a contract until the end of the season after leaving CSKA Moscow due to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. In July of the same year the class of 1991 signed a two-year renewal (expires 30 June 2024) with option for the following seasonor the 2024/25 season. According to the latest rumors, the Juventus club has been working on a new contract in recent weeks offering Toko Shengelia a renewal on a three-year basis. Last March 2024 there was talk of a possible contract extension for another two seasons which, however, has not yet been confirmed to date.

In the 2023/24 season Toko Shengelia produced 13.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.1 assists on average in Serie A (with a rating of 16.5) and 14.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists on average in the EuroLeague (with a rating of 17.4). Since wearing the Segafredo Virtus Bologna shirt, Toko Shengelia has won a EuroCup (2021/22), 2 Italian Super Cups (2022 and 2023) and reached the LBA Finals for three consecutive seasons (but never won the scudetto).
