The Holiday Bonus is back again this year. Up to 500 euros to spend within the year to go on holiday, with the request to be submitted by 30 June. The procedure must be carried out strictly online: let’s see how to cash in on the relief desired by the government, which has allocated 2.4 billion euros to support a sector which is worth one job in seven in our country.
The requirements and figures
The holiday bonus can only be requested by families with an ISEE income of under 40 thousand euros and can only be spent on a stay in Italy between now and the end of 2024. Booking cannot be made on online portals: therefore no to Booking or Airbnb , yes to traditional travel agencies and tour operators. Bookings directly in the facilities are also ok, excluding non-professional operators.
How much is it worth
The bonus is worth a maximum of 500 euros for families with at least three people; 300 euros for families with two people; 150 euros for singles. 80% immediately turns into a discount at the time of payment from the accommodation facility, while the remaining 20% will be included in the income tax return and will therefore be collected in the form of a tax deduction in 2025.
The digital process
An app on your mobile phone, a Spid digital identity or an electronic identity card and the value of the family ISEE: this is all you need to have before starting the operation. The first step is to download the Io public services app from the Apple or Android platforms. Then you must log in with your Spid digital ID (Public Digital Identity System) or with an electronic identity card. After the first registration, you can proceed more easily by typing the chosen PIN or through biometric recognition (fingerprint or face recognition). Then, in the payments section of the app, you must select the holiday bonus and enter the requested information, including the value of the ISEE (those who don’t know it can recover it from INPS or a Caf). At that point the operation is almost complete. The app generates the code associated with the requested holiday bonus, which is also associated with a QR Code: both can be shown to the hotelier at the time of payment.
