Anzil, Altan exhibition updates classic fairy tales

The deputy governor in Tolmezzo for the inauguration of the exhibition dedicated to the great designer Pordenone, 13 June – “We immediately believed in the potential of this exhibition because it is an exhibition that fascinates and excites the visitor precisely because it proposes the history of the fairy tale and the reinterpretation in an everyday key. An exhibition that takes up and brings to mind the fables of the classical world of Aesop and Phaedrus, translating them and also re-proposing the morals of the fables, re-updating them and making them contemporary, for example on the ecological and environmental theme”. These were the words of the deputy governor of the Region with responsibility for Culture Mario Anzil, this afternoon at the inauguration of the exhibition “Altan. Earth, men and beasts” in Palazzo Frisacco in Tolmezzo. The exhibition – on display over three hundred drawings and cartoons by the designer Francesco Tullio Altan – will remain open until 22 September. “In addition to transmitting emotions, the exhibition – added Anzil – launches messages that we can grasp through the eyes of children, escaping for a few moments into the fantastic enchantment of the impossible, finding ourselves immersed in fairy tales and their morals. The exhibition will certainly also have a tourist attraction for the Carnia area. It is also in this sense that we immediately believed in this cultural initiative”. The exhibition is organized by the Municipality of Tolmezzo, Erpac and the Carnic Museum of popular arts “Michele Gortani” with the collaboration of PromoTurismoFvg. “A collaboration – the deputy governor wanted to highlight – which has made it possible to bring to our territory hundreds of works by Francesco Tullio Altan, one of the greatest Italian designers who, with his countless iconographic representations, has been able to rise to an international level. The exhibition will be will certainly enchant the public and give visitors of all ages sensational emotions.” ARC/LIS/ma
