this is the secret of «Winning Companies» according to Intesa Sanpaolo

Significant results in economic value and social impact, innovation and research, digital and ecological transition, export and internationalisation, generational transition and dimensional consolidation, training and welfare. And that is: all the colors of excellence. Despite the scale, despite the sector to which they belong and despite the organizational model – often of a marked family nature.

The third meeting among the fifteen planned in the new edition of «Imprese Vincenti», the Intesa Sanpaolo program dedicated to identifying those small and medium-sized enterprises in the territories that represent an example of entrepreneurial excellence and made in Italy, stopped in Brescia on Thursday 13 June. Italy.

From Cittadini di Paderno Franciacorta, active in the technical textile sector, to Emmequattro, Forgiatura Morandini and Martin mechanics, from Fedegari Autoclavi from Pavia to General Computer Italia from Milan up to Invernizzi from Cremona which transforms wood, from Mantua from Manerba which deals with furniture, from Metal Carp carpentry in Prevalle and the Vmc hosiery factory in Gottolengo, the Brescia stage of the tour, carried out in collaboration with Visa and which featured ten «Winning Companies» in the Faissola room of the Intesa Sanpaolo headquarters, was actually the composition of the great fresco which describes the entrepreneurial capacity and political strength of the Lombardy productive fabric.

A concept reiterated during the event by Marco Franco Nava himself, regional director of Lombardy South Intesa Sanpaolo: «The ten companies that we are awarding today (yesterday for those reading this) are the expression of the quality of Made in Italy and are positive examples for the Lombard production system, as they create economic and social development for the community. In 2023 – Nava then added – we provided approximately 1.2 billion euros to businesses and families in the area under the responsibility of the Southern Lombardy Regional Directorate. Since the launch of the initiatives dedicated to sustainable investments and in the circular economy, we have already provided 335 million euros to companies in these territories, confirming our commitment to helping them seize these opportunities, in favor of stable and inclusive growth”.

But yesterday’s event was also an opportunity to take stock of the health of the regional economy. Lombardy, with 163.6 billion euros in 2023, confirms itself as the first Italian region for exports with a weight of 26.5% on the national total. The top sectors for foreign sales in these provinces are metallurgy, mechanics, agri-food, chemistry, electronics, electrical engineering and metal products, all of which have seen strong growth in recent years. The strong recovery in investments also contributed to the good dynamics of the Italian economy, which between 2016 and 2023 recorded an increase of +31% for Lombardy.

«This – underlined Nava – is a significant change of pace compared to the recent past: just think that between 2008 and 2016 our investments were reduced by 21.6%, while the German ones had risen by 9.9%. . Industry 4.0 and Superbonus explain this performance, a synthesis of the leap in construction (+47.1% in the period 2016-2023), but also of the dynamics of investments in machinery, means of transport and ICT (+29.3%)”.
