Motorcycle accident in Terlizzi, 24 year old Mario Morgese dies

An accident that might have seemed trivial on the surface turned into a tragedy. The 24 year old Mario Morgese he died this morning, June 13, at the Bari Polyclinic, following the impact between the motorbike he was traveling on with a friend and a Fiat Doblò.

The incident occurred late in the evening of Wednesday 12 June in the central Viale Italia, at the intersection with Viale della Resistenza, in Terlizzi. For reasons under investigation by investigators, the motorcycle, a Honda, driven by the victim’s friend, violently impacted the car and, although the speed was not high, the boy was literally catapulted to the ground. The centaur was unharmed. The conditions of the passenger of the motorcycle immediately seemed desperate to the rescuers of the 118 Service, who proceeded to urgently transfer him to the Polyclinic of Bari, in the intensive care unit, where, however, he unfortunately died this morning.

The Carabinieri of the local Tenenza are investigating the dynamics, while the emotional impact on a community that must mourn yet another road victim was strong. “We would never want to hear news like this. Our community loses a young life, that of Mario. A 24 year old boy. We pray for you, boy” were the words written on social media by the president of the city council of the city of flowers, Giampaolo Sigrisi.
