Partinico in this first part of 2024 has been plagued by vandals, thefts and car fires. A chain of episodes that, without interruption, has filled the daily news of a territory that is struggling to emerge from this crime emergency.
The city council has also grasped these difficulties and for this reason it has been decided to convene an open meeting for tomorrow, Thursday 13 June, at 7pm. Everyone will be able to participate and speak: associations, committees, ordinary citizens.
In less than 6 months there have been 5 car fires, all arson, and several acts of vandalism against playgrounds and even monuments. Thefts from commercial activities have also been recorded, already cornered by the crisis and the works in the historic center which clearly make traffic and walking impossible.
A fiery debate is also expected on a political level. The opposition has long complained about the lack of countermeasures on the part of the municipal administration, which on the contrary had based its program on urban security during the election campaign. On the other hand, the majority that speaks of populist positions and interventions implemented through the implementation of the urban Daspo and the implementation of video surveillance cameras.
