Accident at work in the Mega Wilcknes paint company in Brugherio, in the province of Milan: a young worker lost his life
The alarm went off around 9.30 this morning. In the solvent and resin mixing department of Mega Wilcknes, in via Aristotele in Brugherio, a spark probably caused a reaction and therefore a violent explosion. The flames immediately engulfed the warehouse and a 24-year-old worker, who would have turned 25 in October, lost his life due to the fire.
From the warehouse, which at that moment contained about twenty employees, she immediately got up a black column of smoke and help soon arrived. The Fire Brigade and the 118 emergency vehicles arrived on site within a few seconds, and obviously also the Carabinieri of the Monza company under the leadership of Commander Emanuele D’Onofri. Because of the explosion a 24-year-old worker died: here is the reconstruction of the facts and who the victim was.

The alarm and the first testimonies
According to the first reconstruction, to alert the authorities a woman, a colleague of the young victim who lost her life, was responsible for what happened. MonzaToday, present at the site of the accident, reported the situation, especially of the survivors: after the explosion, the employees were made to sit down and were offered a glass of water, even if the shock is still intense both at physical and psychological. It all happened in a few seconds and, when help arrived, for 25 year old Amadou S. there was already nothing left to do.
According to Vito Cristino, commander of the Fire Brigade of the Monza and Brianza Command, the cause of the explosion was a fire. The checks, however, are still ongoing: the most probable hypothesis is that the fire in turn started during the solvent manufacturing process.
Who was Amadou S., the victim
The one who lost his life due to the explosion was Amadou S., a 25-year-old worker resident in Lentate sul Seveso but domiciled in Monza. Having been employed by the Brugherio company for three years, it seems he died instantly because, when help arrived, there was already nothing left for him to do.
