A endless waiting, at least for the official results, filled only by those who reached the points from the list representatives spread across the various polling stations of the city. A unprecedented delayat least in our memory, which left those waiting for the definitive, albeit announced, data in suspense.
The Rolando-Mager runoff it was in the air, with the unknown Fellegara always lurking. From the first unofficial findings it was confirmed but it remains incredible that at 19 and five hours after the polls opened for the counting of votes, it was made official from Palazzo Bellevue only one section out of the 56 present. A figure regarding 216 votes which had little or no value for the final result.
So we had to settle of the results of the three main points which, fortunately, on the basis of approximately 30 sections examined, offered a more or less similar result at the same time, even if based on different sections. And meanwhile the delay in official data continued until late in the evening. At 9.30pmthe time in which our newspaper closed the long television marathon that began at 2.30 pm, the sections officially scrutinized were just over thirty, which became 50 just before midnight.
When the clock turned to the next day, we reached 54 sections but, even now, two are still missing, the 7th and the 20th. During yesterday we talked about disputes of many votes which, therefore, caused the delays. The two missing sections, however, will not significantly change the data relating to the candidates for mayor, but will be used to count preferences.
At the moment, come on 24,353 voters (again from the 54 updated sections) there were 23,527 valid votes, 180 blank ballots, 632 invalid votes with 8 votes canceled and 6 contested. Now we wait for the last two sections to be inserted.
