Voting methods – European

To cast your vote, simply tick a list symbol. It is possible to add from one to three preferences for as many candidates for the European Parliament who are part of that list. If two preferences are expressed, a man and a woman must be indicated, if three preferences, two women and a man, or two men and a woman. Separate voting cannot be carried out, i.e. the symbol of one list cannot be crossed out and preference given to a candidate from another list.

Voting methods – Municipal

The voter can vote for mayor and list by marking only the symbol of a list and, in doing so, voting both for the list and for the connected candidate for mayor (who is already specified with name and surname on the ballot paper). Two preferences can be expressed, necessarily for councilor candidates of the opposite sex from the same chosen list, by writing name and surname next to the symbol of the voted list. In the case of two preferences for candidates of the same sex, only the first applies. The voter can also vote only for the mayor, crossing only the rectangle with the name of the chosen mayoral candidate. In this case the vote does not transfer to any list. A further voting method is that of split voting, with a vote for a mayoral candidate and an unrelated list. The voter can vote for a list by marking the mark of the chosen list and for the mayoral candidate of another list, marking the box containing the name and surname of the chosen mayor.
