Polling stations reopened

Seat again open today, June 9th, until 11pm in Lazio and throughout Italy for the second and last day of voting for the election of 76 new MEPs representing Italy in the European Union Parliament and to renew 142 mayors and municipal councils in the area. Yesterday the turnout in Lazio for the European elections stopped at 13.83% (an average low figure in Lazio for the European elections): it dropped to 13.29 for Rome and rose to 18.10 for Rieti and to 17.36 for Viterbo. According to the «Eligendo» website of the Ministry of the Interior, for municipal elections in Lazio, 24.52% of those eligible have voted so far. In Rome they are instead called to the polls for the European elections beyond 2 million and 370 thousand citizens, with around 11,800 adults voting for the first time. In Lazio the municipal elections call 478 thousand citizens to the polls. Among the municipalities affected, seven are those with more than 15 thousand inhabitants: four in the province of Rome (Civitavecchia, Monterotondo, Palestrina and Tivoli), two in the province of Frosinone (Cassino and Veroli) and one in the province of Viterbo (Tarquinia).
