One shot a day: there is a burglary alarm in the Foresta area, in the municipality of Cervaro. Late yesterday morning the thieves visited a house, taking advantage of the owners’ absence, away on business. What made some family members who live not far away suspicious was the presence of one of the family pets outside the apartment: at that time, in fact, it should not have been in the garden. Having an inkling that something wasn’t right, they carried out an inspection and found the house ransacked and many possessions taken away. And they alerted the police. They most likely entered through a rear window (which was also armored), then once inside the thieves managed to steal gold objects, wedding rings and watches but also costume jewelery and memories of a life of inestimable sentimental value.
They rummaged everywhere looking for precious things, throwing everything away. Then they disappeared, perhaps disturbed by the arrival of a niece. Just a few hours earlier another robbery occurred again in the Foresta area: during the night between Tuesday and Wednesday unknown persons broke into another house while the elderly owners were at dinner. They blocked the door of the room where the homeowners were with a chair and acted undisturbed, taking away gold and precious objects. It is also possible that they resorted to sleeping pills for the dogs who, strangely, did not “warn” their owners of the presence of strangers but fell asleep. When the two elderly people realized what had happened, it was already too late and the thieves were already far away. The residents and the “Forest in the Municipality” committee they return to asking for more security and the installation of cameras capable of representing a concrete deterrent to the gangs who cyclically return to strike especially in areas such as Foresta, easily accessible due to the presence of a maze of roads capable of ensuring safety to the bad guys.
Same goes for i Municipalities of Cassinate, especially in the area affected by the numerous escape routes connected to the Casilina. An example of this is the recently foiled theft by a crew of the San Giovanni Incarico Corps at Molinari (in Colfelice), thanks to the important prevention action of the Carabinieri of the Pontecorvo Company, led by Captain Bartolo Taglietti. After having foiled the attack on Molinari, the search began for the thieves who had fled by car: the operations center sent four more patrols to the area both for searches and to verify whether, after the attempt, the criminals had decided to “visit ” to some company. A system – the one linked to an increase in patrols in “sensitive” areas – which has already led to important results: the arrest, for example, last March of two of the three young people on board a stolen black Alfa 156, which took place in the center of Pontecorvo after the crash. With the citizens in the street applauding and praising the carabinieri who – after a crazy chase – had stopped the fugitives.
