Scandian Adele Baldassarre, the 16-year-old who died in her sleep, had lived in Scandiano for six years together with her mother Federica Zanellato and her father Rocco Baldassare. Her maternal family is originally from Polesine Camerini, in the Porto Tolle area, in the province of Rovigo, where she is well known. She was born there and spent the first ten years of her life. Subsequently, the family moved due to a change of job of her mother, who began teaching in primary schools in the Reggio area after having managed a newsstand for a long time. Her husband Antonio, a pizza chef and chef, found work in premises in the ceramic district.
Adele attended middle school in Scandiano, then chose to continue her education at the Sigonio high school in Modena.
