FASANO – “This morning, seeing that he wasn’t home, we tried to ring his cell phone and realized that he was in the elevator shaft.” Giuseppe Ditano retraces the drama he experienced at dawn today (Monday, July 1) when he discovered the lifeless body of his daughter Clelia, who died after falling about 15 meters in the elevator shaft of the apartment building in via Saragat, in Fasano.

The girl, working at a B&B in the area, lived with her parents in an apartment on the fourth floor. Apparently, after returning home late yesterday evening, she would have gone back. The elevator door was still open, but the cabin, in the meantime, for reasons to be clarified, had descended to the first floor. Her fall left her no escape.

The father remained for hours outside the building, owned by Arca Nord, waiting for the firefighters to recover his daughter’s lifeless body. This is the testimony she gave to journalists: “she was a sunny girl.” She had many dreams – including getting a driving license and being independent. And certainly getting married. Now those dreams have been shattered.”

“It had never happened before that the elevator stopped like that. This morning – the man continues – seeing that he was not at home, we tried to make his cell phone ring and we realized that he was in the elevator shaft. I immediately understood that something had happened and we raised the alarm”.
