Prestigious recognition for “War and Peace” produced by the oenologist Vito Oddo – The gold medal at the “Vermentino International Wine Competition”, held in Cagliari last week, was awarded to the 2022 Vermentino produced by the Trapani winemaker Vito Oddo’s company, among approximately three hundred samples from Italy, France, Australia, USA, South Africa, Chile, Brazil.

«Our “War and Peace” was included among the best samples participating in this third edition of the international competition in the sector, finally winning the gold medal» says a satisfied Vito Oddo (in the photo, with his partner Monica Rossitto in the grape variety vermentino), recalling that «the same wine was awarded the gold medal at the national championship held last year in Diano Castello, in Liguria, and now receives an internationally important recognition, defeating hundreds of competitors».

It is a further success for Vito Oddo, who believed and invested in Vermentino in the Trapani area, founding his own winery about nine years ago, so much so that it has become a point of reference for Vermentino.

«Vermentino has also made us appreciated at a local level, because we were the ones who launched it in Trapani and therefore we are identified above all for this type of wine; we can see it – says Oddo – from some restaurants that contact us, but also from customers who visit the cellar and the point of sale in the Villa Rosina neighbourhood. I invested a lot of energy in the Vermentino vine, because I believed in it right from the start – concludes the Trapani winemaker – and it is giving great satisfaction, up to this latest world-class award».
