Friday 7 June, at the Caritas Tent in via Cappuccini n. 15, at 5.45 pm, the Slow Food Basilicata presentation of the 2024 Extra Virgin Guide published by Slow Food Editore will be held in Matera.
The Matera area offers a rather varied and interesting varietal panorama of olive cultivation which can be compared with other regional experiences. The Extra Virgin Olive Oil Guide 2024 is a valid tool for technicians but also for enthusiasts or simply for the curious who want to delve deeper into the issues related to the production of oil, the cornerstone of the Mediterranean diet.
The national and regional representatives of the Slow Food Association will intervene in the debate. The Director of ALSIA, Aniello Crescenzi, will talk about the Institution’s commitment to the valorization and varietal characterization of Matera cultivars also as a virtuous model for other production realities, supported by Dr. Giovanni Lacertosa among the experts included in the evaluation panel of the Guide.
In conclusion, Prof. Francesco Linzalone will lead a tasting comparing some oils included in the guide.
