On the occasion of the anniversary of centenary of the death of the universal writer Franz Kafka among the most incisive figures of the 20th century, Wanted Cinema is pleased to announce that it will distribute in Italy from October 24 the biopic Love according to Kafka (The Glory of Life) directed by Judith Kaufmann and Georg Maas (already authors of Two lives), on whose screenplay the writer Michael Kumpfmüller collaborated, author of the bestselling novel of the same name published in Italy by Neri Pozza with the title The wonder of life.

Love according to Kafka features protagonists Sabin Tambrea (Ludwig II) and Henriette Confurius (Separation line) in a fascinating love story between the creator of The metamorphosis and the young dancer Dora Diamant. A small seaside resort on the Baltic Sea in the summer of 1923 is the backdrop to a happiness that suddenly erupts, illuminating the darkness of the last year of the writer’s life with a great and surprising love. He is a man of the world, vicious, elegant and already ill, she is a kindergarten teacher from East Berlin, an Orthodox Jew. He writes, she dances. Yet he lives as if suspended in the air, she has her feet firmly planted on the ground. As the two get to know each other, all the differences become irrelevant, leaving room for a perfect balance, unfortunately destined to be short-lived…

The sentimental film that transports us into the tormented existence of the German-speaking Bohemian literary genius will arrive in Italian cinemas from October 24th with Wanted Cinema.
