The new spending bonus provides a series of benefits designed to support the food spending of Italian families in economic difficulty and the measures include the Purchasing Card, the “Dedicated to you” card and the Food Income, for a total of aid that can reach up to at 940 euros per year. Here are the details on how and who can request them.
Purchasing Card
Description
The Purchasing Card is a prepaid card recharged every two months with 80 euros. It is useful for covering food and health expenses, as well as paying electricity and gas bills, and allows you to obtain discounts in participating shops.
Who can request it
Seniors aged 65 or over and children under three years of age can request it (in this case, the holders will be the parents). Requirements include:
Italian citizenship and registration in the municipal registry office.
An ISEE and total annual income not exceeding 8,052.75 euros (10,737 euros for those over 70).
Not being the owner, alone or together with your spouse, of multiple electricity and gas utilities, not being the owner of more than one vehicle and of shares exceeding 25% of a property for residential use (10% if for different use), not have movable assets exceeding 15,000 euros.
How to request it
To obtain the Purchasing Card, it is necessary to apply at post offices, completing and submitting the application form available on the website of the Ministry of Economy and Finance. The Card is free and works like a normal electronic payment card, with periodic top-ups carried out by the State. This measure contributes to a total spending bonus of 940 euros.
“Dedicated to you” card
Description
The amount of the “Dedicated to you” card is approximately 460 euros, paid on a one-off basis. This benefit is designed for families with small dependent children and for those with at least three members.
Who can request it
It is not necessary to submit an application. The beneficiaries will be contacted directly by INPS and their municipality. The “Dedicated to you” card is not available to those who already receive other state subsidies such as Naspi, Dis Coll or mobility allowance. Priority is given to families with younger children and large ones.
Usage
The loaded amount can be spent on basic food items such as bread, pasta, meat and eggs.
Food Income
Description
Food income consists of receiving food parcels made with unsold products from large retailers. This measure is currently being tested in some cities, including Genoa, Florence, Naples and Palermo, and could be extended to the whole country.
Who can request it
The support is aimed at families in difficult economic conditions. To obtain it, it is necessary to contact the Municipalities where the measure is active directly.
