An accident at the Rosignano toll booth on the Rome-Genoa motorway has led to the death of three people and is blocking the A12. From the first information on the dynamics of the accident it seems that a car, arriving at very high speed, crashed into the other cars in the queue and caused a carambola, causing two other cars to overturn which literally overwhelmed and destroyed the toll booth. Among the injured there is also the toll collector. Among others, they are also involved in the accident two minors who reported minor injuries.

Accident at the A12 motorway toll booth near Rosignano: three dead

The accident occurred near Rosignano, in the province of Livorno, around lunchtime.

The fire brigade’s intervention is still underway. The toll booth structure has suffered very serious damage: it is practically destroyed.

According to an initial reconstruction by the rescuers who arrived on site at the Rosignano A12 motorway toll booth, the two occupants of the car that crashed at high speed into two vehicles in the queue would have died overturning and damaging the toll booth structure and one of the occupants of the rear-ended cars. Six other people were seriously injured.
