Ripalimosani: success for the event “Which Europe are we building?” on the future of the continent

RIPALIMOSANI (CB) – The event entitled “Which Europe are we building?” was held with great success, held on Friday 31 May at 6pm at the San Gabriele dell’Addolorata oratory in via Padre Abramo in Ripalimosani. The initiative, promoted by the Campobasso Cultural Centre, had as its objective the development of an open and constructive debate on the future of the European continent, in light of the recent elections for the renewal of the European Parliament which will be held on 8-9 June.

The evening saw the participation of prominent figures in the regional cultural and political scene. Among the speakers, Lorenzo Scillitani, professor of Geopolitics of Rights at the University of Molise, offered a detailed overview of the geopolitical challenges that Europe is facing, with particular reference to the Russian-Ukrainian crisis. Scillitani underlined the importance of a cohesive and far-sighted European policy, capable of promoting stability and peace in an increasingly complex international context.

Claudio Papa, entrepreneur and president of the Coldiretti Molise Federation, instead focused his speech on the economic impact of geopolitical tensions on agriculture and small businesses. Pope highlighted how the war in Ukraine has exacerbated existing problems, putting supply chains in crisis and causing an increase in the costs of raw materials. His appeal to European politics was clear: concrete and timely support is needed for agricultural companies, in order to guarantee food safety and the economic sustainability of the sector.

A particularly touching moment of the evening was the testimony of Elizaveta Kurochkina, a young 21-year-old Ukrainian who experienced firsthand the horrors of the conflict. Kurochkina recounted with great emotion and clarity the daily difficulties faced by the civilian population, the devastation and human losses suffered. Her story moved the public and highlighted the need for decisive and humanitarian intervention by Europe to put an end to the war and help rebuild her country.

The event represented an important opportunity for reflection and dialogue on the role that Europe must take on to face future challenges. The participants underlined how the construction of a strong and united Europe cannot ignore current geopolitical tensions and the need for a common foreign policy that promotes peace and international cooperation.

In conclusion, Ripalimosani’s evening sent a clear message: the new Europe, which will emerge from the upcoming elections, will have to actively commit to building a future of peace and prosperity, decisively addressing the challenges posed by international crises and concretely supporting the populations affected by conflicts. A moral and political commitment that can no longer be postponed.
