He was called Enriquetta And Simone Casini, a 43-year-old truck driver, was madly in love with her. The scam
Simone could not bear the distance that separated him from Enriquetta Jaq Martinez, a 28-year-old Spanish nurse who, after a short period in Italyshe would return to live in Zaragoza. On social media, Simone published photomontages with him and photos of his hypothetical girlfriend. Anything to “feel” close to her. But, in reality, there are other people behind Enriquetta.

And Enriquetta had made him believe that she had fallen in love with him. Casini had thus maintained a long-distance online relationship and the two would have communicated for a long time via social media, but behind the profile of the person with whom the truck driver was speaking there would actually have been some scammers with the intention of deceiving easily impressionable users.
Simone Casini’s family has asked magistrates to clarify their son’s death, fearing that it could be a homicide. Casini, according to his parents’ information, would have made significant withdrawals every time he received his salary, handing the money over to people who would have threatened him several times. Over the years he would have delivered around 70 thousand euros to “Enriquetta”.
The investigations
The prosecutor of Siena speaks on the case Andrea Boni: «At the moment, no useful elements have emerged that could allow us to hypothesize the existence of other crimes (in particular, no conduct characterized by the purpose of profit has emerged) and the investigations are continuing for further investigation of the case».
