The match between Alexander Bublik and Lorenzo Musetti in Stuttgart ended in the most unexpected way possible. The Kazakh in fact he surprised everyone, first and foremost his opponent, by retiring at the start of the third set when the result was tied in terms of sets.
The first won by Biblik by 6/4, the sevondo by Carrarino by 6/1 and then the twist.
Musetti in the post-match interview: “I hope he can play next week. He was playing very well. I’m still very proud of what he did in the second set. It’s never the favorite way to win, but knowing that Matteo is in the semi-final… I send a big hug I didn’t intend to win like this in Bublik. It’s difficult to find concentration, he can serve from underneath, you never know what he’ll do, he’s very talented.”
