“Now the road is safer after Aurora’s death”

Red lanterns and white balloons released into the sky and a banner reading “Thank you Aurora”. Commemoration on Saturday at the roundabout of the Cargopier shopping center for Aurora Caruso, the 22-year-old from Collemarino who died on 4 October 2022 due to a road accident that occurred while she was trying to immerse herself along the Adriatica state road. There was not yet the roundabout that the Municipality of Osimo inaugurated at the end of March and was created specifically to increase safety on that stretch of road which had already cost a young life. The demonstration was organized by the girl’s mother, Agnese Bendelari. “If the road will be safer now – said the woman – unfortunately it is also thanks to my daughter. We weren’t even invited to the inauguration of the roundabout. I would like to send a message: go slowly with your cars, be cautious even if you they have large displacement cars.” Friends and relatives rallied around Agnese, a courageous mother who never fails to remember and renew the love for her daughter who she no longer has. On June 10 there will be a preliminary hearing for the young man who crashed into her daughter’s car. Aurora was driving an Opel Astra, she had just finished working at Risparmio Casa and after sending a text message to her mother saying “I’m leaving now” she was hit by an Alfa Romeo driven by a 21-year-old. The young man’s vehicle would have crossed the double continuous line, to overtake, near the intersection, where the 22-year-old came from. He is accused of vehicular homicide.
