Tears of joy to the Principality! After a weekend spent as an absolute protagonist Charles Leclerc won the most important GP of his career, that of Munich. The host, already a poleman thanks to a dizzying qualifying, preceded the McLaren of Oscar Piastri and the Ferrari of teammate Carlos Sainz.
The race, usually quite difficult already, had a extremely troubled start. Ready-go, in fact, a red flag went off, resulting from a bad accident caused by Magnussen, who hit Sergio Perez’s Red Bull sending it into the wall. A very tough clash which caused a delay of around forty minutes.
Also worth mentioning is what happened to Sainz who, again in the first lap, suffered a puncture due to contact with Piastri. Fortunately, the damage was “saved” by the neutralized start which allowed the Spaniard to return to the pits to intervene. The suspension effectively reset the strategies, with all the drivers taking part in the race without ever stopping for a break.

After the restart Leclerc managed the situation firmly, then letting out a liberating scream once he crossed the finish line. World championship leader Max Verstappen was only sixth behind Lando Norris and George Russell. Ferrari is smiling, now -24 behind Red Bull in the constructors’ standings. And in the drivers’ section, the gap between Verstappen and Leclerc is only thirty-one points. As they say in these cases: “It doesn’t happen, but if it happens…”
