Bagnaia masterpiece in Moto GP – Comeback as a champion and wins a masterful race.

Pecco Bagnaia triumphed in the MotoGP Catalunya GP, scoring his third victory of the season. The Ducati world champion made an extraordinary comeback in the second half of the race, overtaking Jorge Martin, who still maintains the championship lead, and Marc Marquez, third on the Gresini team’s Ducati. Marquez achieved a remarkable feat, starting from 14th position on the grid and beating Aleix Espargaro, local idol and official Aprilia rider, in a photo finish.

Despite Bagnaia’s victory, Martin remains leader of the World Championship with 39 points ahead of Bagnaia and 41 over Marquez.

Pecco’s crash on the last lap of the Sprint increased his gap in the standings. Pedro Acosta, a young rookie for GasGas, crashed mid-race while in second place and finished 14th. Espargaro, starting from pole, finished fourth, followed by Fabio Di Giannantonio (Ducati VR46), Raul Fernandez (Aprilia Trackhouse), Alex Marquez (Ducati Gresini) and Brad Binder with the KTM. Franco Morbidelli, after a promising performance, crashed on lap 18.

Bagnaia demonstrated ability in managing speed, strategy and tyres, confirming himself as one of the main protagonists of the MotoGP season.
