The school at the center of the educational community: is the title of the meeting promoted today (25 May) by the List Castelfranco Unita who supports the candidacy for mayor of Federico Grossicurrent deputy mayor.

“Thanks to the valuable interventions of the professor of pedagogy at the University of Urbino Massimo Baldacci and the regional councilor for education Alessandra Nardini (coordinated by the municipal councilor for education Ilaria Duranti) – we read in a note -, it was possible to talk and discuss a topic which is essential when talking about the future of civil society. The school which, starting from the 0-6 year age group, becomes a place of training, inclusion and growth, which prevents educational poverty and prevents the fate of a boy or girl from being marked from the start by the socio-economic conditions of the parents” .

In this sense, Councilor Nardini reiterated that “nurseries have a fundamental role, which have undeniable pedagogical importance as a true educational service”. And which the Tuscany Region supports with the measure Free nurseries (fee eliminated for families with ISEE under 35 thousand euros); a measure that has increased the percentage of participating families, rising from 38% to 40% in the space of not even one school year. And which, as the municipal administration wants to support by expanding the number of places available at the municipal nursery in the capital, which thanks to the Pnrr funds will go from 48 to 70, with a significant increase (+22) and completion of the works in the spring of next year year. Professor Baldacci, however, offered a conspicuous and in-depth excursus on the past, present and future of schools in Italy, which must follow the goal of forming future citizens who are aware, critical and knowledgeable of democratic rules, starting from the youngest age group – that from zero to six years – a mission that builds the foundations of the community to come.

“Thanks to all the people present – commented the mayoral candidate Grossi -. School was, is and will remain the first point of our program, both in terms of support for educational policies and the construction of new school buildings, such as the new primary school that we want to build in the capital, with an adjoining gym available to our sports clubs. And then improve the conditions of the nursery school in Villa Campanile, to support all the hamlets. Talking about school means laying the foundations for the future. We need a three-year school building plan to support interventions that the Municipalities alone cannot implement.”
