The week that is about to open will be dedicated to a pathology that becomes chronic and affects 12 out of 100 adults worldwide, especially women, three times more than men, migraine. Ulss 3 Serenissima therefore proposes a public meeting on Monday 27 May at 11am at the Neurology of Mirano hospital. Title of the initiative, “Diagnosis and treatment of migraine”.

According to the World Health Organization, represents the third most frequent disease in the world and the second most disabling, thus entailing a very high human, social and economic cost. Yet, despite the clear epidemiological data, migraine is still perceived by those who suffer from it as “invisible”. The aim of initiatives such as the one organized in Mirano is to raise awareness among the population of the importance of early recognition of symptoms, and therefore timely access to specific diagnosis and treatment paths for a better quality of life for patients. The Miranese meeting is part of the initiatives of the Onda Foundation and the hospitals of the Bollini Rosa circuit, which are particularly attentive to the feminine declination of assistance and care.
