When will the new 2024 car incentives officially arrive? It is the question that has been literally driving Italian motorists crazy since last January, who still today – as of May 22nd – do not have access to the updated quotas. For this reason Federauto and Unrae ask the government for help.

It was understood from the beginning that the 2024 car incentives were going “long term”, given that the first real dialogues between the government and Stellantis (called into question thanks to the plants present in the country) only took place in February. Having now reached the end of May, even with the text already ready for weeks, we are still waiting for it publication in the Official Journal of the provision, which is why Federauto and Unrae decided to break the silence.

We need an acceleration of the 2024 Ecobonus activation procedures, the associations thundered, after all this guilty delay is causing quite a few problems for the entire automotive supply chain – and they know this well in Mirafiori, where layoffs are in force due to the poor sales of the electric 500.

Federauto and Unrae do not understand how the provision has not yet been implemented in late May, given that the text was approved and defined last February – so much so that some feared the launch of updated incentives as early as March. A climate of expectation has been created throughout Italy which is causing damage on multiple fronts, with distribution networks blocked and advertising agencies stopped – among other things. Federauto and Unrae therefore ask that the Prime Ministerial Decree relating to incentives be published “urgently” in the Official Journal. We’ll see if the appeal will be heard…
