CORMONS After the success of visitors for the Winemaker’s Saturday and for the Viarte with positive economic repercussions on the whole territory, Cormons is preparing to host another event to attract tourists and visitors to the city and the Collio. The new initiative is called “Osteronda” and is scheduled for Sunday 26 May, starting from 11am and is promoted on the occasion of the “World Aperitif Day”, theon World Aperitif Day, event established in Italy for the first time on 26 May 2022 to celebrate the ritual of the aperitif and the social importance of this moment of collective meeting.

Cormons participates in the event for the second time with the participation of several public venues: the Bar Liberty, the Enoteca di Cormons, the Jazz & Wine le Bar, L’Oste in Piazza, the Osteria in Taberna and the Caffè Teatro.

Traders will have to follow the guidelines which are indicated in a specific regulation called the Aperitif Manifesto. There are two fundamental rules. The first is that the aperitif must be made up of at least 50% of ingredients made in Italy, as well as the accompanying gastronomic products. The second rule is to raise awareness about the responsible consumption of alcohol, avoiding any abuse.

Going into detail, the venues in Cormons that have joined the initiative will offer a glass of Collio wine by the glass, or a glass of the quintessential non-meal, the spritz in all its numerous variations, combined with a tasting interpreted differently from each of the participants. L‘Osteria in Taberna will offer the Cudumar spritz with tomato bruschetta and the Riviera spritz with loin and citron peel canapé. The Liberty Coffeey: limoncello spritz and mortadella and lemon canapé.

It’s still The Cormons wine shop will propose its particular “50 shades of Pinot Grigio”, glass of Pinot Grigio Doc Collio or Doc Isonzo with matching canapé. The Jazz&Wine bar: Tenace Spritz and Crostino with raw San Daniele. The Innkeeper in the square: Sparkling Ribolla Gialla and canapé with frico. The Theater café: variation of spritz with matching canapés.

Some places will also combine the aperitif with musical events: from 6pm the Jazz & Wine bar offers the music of DJ Max.

The organizers of the initiative have highlighted that this is a further opportunity to promote the area which celebrates the Italian tradition of the aperitif, which has always become a very popular event and which also aims to enhance the quality products of the area.

The initiative was born two years ago and it was Italy that promoted it. It is not the first time that some local public places have joined forces to propose engaging and tourist-attracting events. In February, on the occasion of the Carnival celebrations, the “Masked Baraonda” initiative was organised. On Easter Monday some locals gave life to the “Easter Monday in Piazza XXIV Maggio” initiative. All events had excellent participation and we hope to repeat the success of the last edition with the aperitif day. —
