Yesterday afternoon, a furious fire attacked a stable in the Salobbi area of Brez. Fighting against the flames and fire were around a hundred volunteer firefighters belonging to the Brez, Fondo, Castelfondo, Cloz and Malosco corps, in addition to the permanent corps that intervened with the mobile crane. When the volunteer firefighters arrived, alerted shortly after 4.30pm, the stable was completely engulfed in flames. Coordinated by the commander of Brez Manuel Dorighi and the commander of Castelfondo Stefano Turri, the volunteer firefighters tried to contain the fire, preventing it from spreading to another adjacent stable. Also on site was the inspector of the Fondo district union, Francesco Avancini, with his deputy Fabio Bondi. About forty cows were taken to safety. The extinguishing operations continued throughout the night. The cleanup activity began this morning and will continue throughout the day.
