Sunday 26 May the multicultural meeting for inclusion “Colors and customs from distant lands and nearby people”. Appointment at the “Sergio Preti” auditorium and, following, at the cloister of San Domenico with a tasting of ethnic foods

After last year’s success, the multicultural meeting for inclusion “Colors and customs from distant lands and nearby people” returns to the “Sergio Preti” municipal auditorium and to the nearby cloister of San Domenico.

The event, organized and promoted by the cultural center “Il Cortile dell’Aquinate” and by the Municipality of Fondi with the active collaboration of the mayor’s delegate for relations with foreign communities Claudio Cimmino, will be held on Sunday 26 May starting from 6 pm: 00.

The great protagonists of the afternoon dedicated to the discovery of the cultures of the ethnic groups that populate the city of Fondi will be Albania, Algeria, Colombia, India, Morocco, Pakistan, Romania, Ukraine and, of course, Italy because the aim of the initiative is not only to get to know foreign fellow citizens better, but also to give them the opportunity to delve deeper into and appreciate the Fondane culture.

After the opening of the meeting on the anthropological meaning of dress, a greeting from the authorities will follow: the mayor Beniamino Maschietto, the honorable Salvatore De Meo, the councilor Sonia Notarberardino and Lucio De Filippis, director of the Monti Regional Natural Park, will take part. Ausoni and Lago di Fondi which also sponsored the event.

Following the traditional exchange of traditions and stories that will take place during the meeting moderated by Sister Florenza Alcamo, president of the organizing association, we will move to the cloister of San Domenico where, like last year, it will be possible to taste the typical specialties of each group.

A food tasting that will be a real journey of flavors and aromas as the dishes will be prepared by ladies of each ethnic group according to the ancient customs of their country.

Enriching the event will be a photographic exhibition curated by Vincenzo Bucci with the most significant shots of the presence of the various populations in Fondi and a scenography dedicated to the nine villages and integration curated by Antonella Roma and Resty Grossi.
