FATAL ACCIDENT IN MONTEPULCIANO: THE FATHER OF FRANCESCO BIANCONI, LEADER OF BAUSTELLE, DIES | First page

MONTEPULCIANO – Serious accident yesterday in the late afternoon at the San Biagio crossroads, towards Chianciano. A 78-year-old man was hit and killed by a car as he left a fruit and vegetable shop. The driver of the car, a Renault Megane, was subjected to a breathalyzer and toxicological tests but tested negative. The victim’s name was Ilvo Bianconi, he was a resident of Abbadia di Montepulciano and was the father of Francesco Bianconi, a well-known singer-songwriter and leader of Baustelle, a rather successful rock band.

Mayor Michele Angiolini also went to the scene of the accident, together with the 118 ambulance, the carabinieri and the first responders. He was part of Baustelle as a drummer from the beginning until 2002.
