The sports parachuting section team of the 1st Carabinieri Parachute Regiment “Tuscania” won the Italian Landing Precision Championship 2024 held in Nettuno on 18 and 19 May at the Crazy Fly parachuting center and commanded by Chief Marshal Bianchi Daniele, they are part of it Brigadier Chief Girelli Davide (already multiple Italian champion), the Selected Officer Pizziconi Marco (2 times Italian champion) and the chosen officer Vanni Pierfrancesco as well as the Deputy Brigadier Dascanio Claudio.
All the members boast more than ten years of experience in sport parachuting with individually from 3000 to 10000 jumps. Part of this team (Vanni, Pizziconi and Girelli) had already won the Italian team precision skydiving championship in 2019.
Pierfrancesco Vanni, born and still residing in Foiano della Chiana. A wife and two children. He has 4500 military jumps under his belt since 2009. He is part of the 1st Tuscania Parachute Regiment from 2009 to 2013 in the operational component of the Department, participating in international peacekeeping missions.
Since 2013 he has entered the sports parachuting section. 2019 wins the title of Italian team champion.
Selected several times in the Italian national team, he participated in the 2021 parachuting world championships in Siberia and in 2023 at the European Championships in Ravenna with the Italian military national team, he obtained 3rd place in the team in the World Cup championship in the final held in Dubai in 2023.
The Competition: Italian Classical Disciplines Championship Style and Landing Precision. was held in Nettuno. From 15 to 19 May the 35 best Italian athletes divided into 7 teams competed.
Landing precision consists in centering a 2 cm diameter dot placed on a 32 cm electronic disc. Hitting the dot means achieving 0 cm of error. Deviating from the center by 1 cm or more gives you that measurement as a score. Whoever wins scores the smallest amount of cm after 8 throws.
