They found him dead in the same garage where his 20-year-old son, Vincenzo Nocerino, and his Iranian girlfriend, Vida Shalavalad, had lost their lives. He too, like them, died of asphyxiation from the car’s exhaust fumes.
The body of Alfredo Nocerino was found lifeless in the garage in via Fosso del Lupo in Secondigliano, where the two boys were found last March. The police investigate his death; the main hypothesis is that the man took his own life.
The fatal accident in the garage
The two boys were locked in the car, in the garage, with the shutter down. They had left the car’s engine running to keep the interior heating running, but carbon monoxide had saturated the small room, killing them. This is how the young couple died in Naples: their bodies were found by Vincenzo’s father, worried about his son’s failure to return home and the fact that he was not answering his cell phone. The man had gone to the home garage, on the ground floor of the building, finding the engine of the red Panda still running, and the air in the room unbreathable. The man immediately called for help, but the paramedics were only able to confirm the death of the two young people.
