Ultimo, park with his name on the day of “Elsewhere”

«I spent countless nights and countless days in this little park, with lifelong friends and even alone. I listened to my songs, I cursed things for the way they were going, because all my attempts to make them known didn’t work. All my vocation and my “poetics” (give me the term) were born here. Opposite here I attended nursery school, elementary school and also middle school. “I wasn’t present in class…”. Every verse of my first songs passed through here. I never thought I’d see my name associated with this place since Municipality of Rome».

On his social pages, Ultimo talks about his emotions after the inauguration of the Ultimo park, in Saint Basil in Rome. «My hope is that this space becomes a place of motivation for girls and boys, because if I did it without even the slightest recommendation from anyone, just with a piano and my words, anyone really can do it. I would like to look you in the face Niccolò from 10 years ago and tell him that those dangling dreams would soon find a home. Actually maybe not, I wouldn’t tell him anything. I would hug him tenderly and tell him: “You’ll be right”.

All on the day of its release “Somewhere else”, the new album by the Roman singer-songwriter, which arrives on the eve of the new tour, «Last stadium 2024 – The fairy tale continues»: in fact, less than a month is left until Ultimo’s already record-breaking tour, which at just 28 years of age boasts a mind-boggling 33 stadiums. Eight songs, from the title song, co-produced by Francesco “Katoo” Catitti, a cloying yet cheesy dedication to his partner, a mainstream anthem ready for stadiums and commercials, to “Diluvio universal”, a sort of country western with Mezzosangue. The album’s only feat: in fact, there is no “The Last Poem”song written and performed in tandem with Geolier.

But let’s get back to the tour. A total of 10 dates including the zero date of June 2nd at the Nereo Rocco Stadium in Trieste, a double at Maradona of Naples (8-9 June, the first sold out), an encore also in Turin (15-16 June, the first sold out), a magical hat-trick at the Olympic Stadium in Rome for the second year in a row (22-23-24 June, the first two already sold out), sold out also in Messina on 28 June and the grand finale on 6 July at the Euganeo Stadium in Padua.
